Codename: Greywolves 2 (part 1)

General Mattock was sitting at his shiny polished desk, in his highly decorated dress uniform. A cigar was sitting in its ashtray, smoldering and filling the air with its aroma.

He pulled out his data pad and was sifting through some top secret documents, scrolling through with the tip of his finger to skip pages and finding more information that was brought to him through secure channels.

Photos. Videos. Text documents.

He reached over and grabbed his desk wireless phone.

“Get me Captain Winters.”

* * *

Captain Winters was with her Greywolves. They were in the kill house, practicing their room clearing procedures and tactics.

The team stacked up on both sides of the door at the bottom of a three story shoot house. She used her bionic leg and breached the door as she tossed in a flashbang. After the loud pop and the bright flash, they entered with their weapon systems up. They poured in on both sides of the hall way and began to clear rooms at the bottom level.

“Sergeant Allyn, check in.” She whispered into her headset.

“Allyn here.” He replied as he guided the second team down the opposite side of the hall.

“Take the stairs on your side, we’re going up our side. Let’s meet in the middle on the second.”

“Roger.” He replied.

One of the Greywolves team breached in a room and shot a pop up metal target with their sub machine guns. “Contact down. Moving on.”

Rat tat tats of sub machine gun fire was heard and echoed down the empty corridors.

Sergeant Allyn got to a door with his small team of Greywolves behind him.

“Let’s push up the stairs, I’ll provide overwatch.” He aimed his sub machine gun up to watch for pop up targets. The team of three walked up the stairs, slowly making their way to watch for visible threats.

A target popped up with a hostage next to it, and the lead Greywolf put a three round burst into the targets head, missing the hostage.

“I’m black on main, switching to secondary.” He drew his pistol out and kept it in front of them to scan for threats as they made it up the stairs.

Sergeant Allyn scooted up behind his team, as Captain Winters and her Greywolves approached from the North side and entered the second level as the Greywolves from Sergeant Allyn’s team entered on the South side.

“Watch for friendly fire, Bravo team is up here.” Allyn spoke to everyone on the comms channel.

The lights turned off and the entire house went dark.

All of the Greywolves switched to night vision and started their procedures to clear rooms.

Before the teams breached their first door, a loud buzzer rang out from above them.

“Turn off your Night Vision, exercise is over.” A voice was heard on the loudspeakers. They all lowered their sub machine guns and switched off their night optics.

“Captain Winters, Special Operations General Mattock requests your audience.” The voice cut out.

“Okay Greywolves, that’s enough for today. Downgrade your armor and get comfortable.” Captain Winters said into the voice channels of her microphone.

“Do you want me to come with?” Sergeant Allyn asked.

“Can’t hurt.” She replied.

Captain Winters and Sergeant Allyn wore their camouflage uniforms and stood outside the door of General Mattock.

They looked at each other.

“Hopefully it’s another op.” Allyn said to Winters with a wink.

“Me too. I think we’re ready.” She smiled as she knocked on the door.

“Come in, Captain.” General Mattock yelled.

They both walked in, “no salute required. Come have a seat.” General Mattock said.

They both sat down in the cushy executive chairs in front of their commanding officer.

“How are the Greywolves?” He asked as he was moving his data pad off to the side.

“Ready for a mission sir.” Captain Winters replied.

“Good. How are you Sergeant Allyn?” He looked at him.

“All is well sir.” He replied. “What is going on?”

“Effective immediately, Winters you are hereby promoted to Major. And as for you, Allyn, you are hereby promoted to Staff Sergeant. For your actions from the rescue mission. You both earned a battlefield promotion. But that’s not the main reason why I called you here.”

He stood up.

“I need the Greywolves. And this isn’t a rescue mission. Search and Destroy. Go in, blow some shit up, and bounce before anyone has any clue what the hell happened.”

“Give us the run down.” Major Winters said.

The Greywolves were in their camouflage uniforms, sitting in the briefing room.

“Hey, what did you do last night?” 3 leaned over to 4, the pair of Assault troops.

4 shrugged, “Why?”

“You seemed kinda tired, your shot group sucked ass.” 3 whispered.

“That’s because I was fucking both your mom and sister last night.” 4 smirked as 3 punched him square in the chest.

“Knock it off kids, before I call Mom!” 9 the Combat Medic said.

“Yeah yeah Doc.” 3 said waving him off.

The medic sat across from them. “Don’t make me separate you two ass clowns.”

8, The Gas Man, sat down next to the Medic.

“Hey Doc.” “Yo GM.”

The rest of the Greywolves team entered and sat in their little spots in the chairs.

“I hope we’re going somewhere.” 10, the Recon trooper spoke up during the silence.

“We can only fucking hope. Being at the flagpole has been tedious.” 11 said, the Designated Marksman sat uneasy in his chair. “I should have taken a piss before I got here.”

“Room, attention!” Staff Sergeant Allyn commanded, and the Greywolves stood up to attention as ordered.

Major Winters walked down the aisle between the Greywolves and stood up at the podium.

“At ease peeps, thanks Allyn.” The Greywolves sat.

“Okay Greywolves! Another opportunity to show off our skill sets, we have a mission that came across the net and we’ve been tasked to fulfill it. Also, in other news, I’ve been promoted to Major. And Sergeant Allyn is now Staff Sergeant Allyn. You all also received a significant amount of a pay raise. So, now you can spend more money at the bar.”

Some of the Greywolves chuckled, “Or the strip club.” Gas Man said.

Major Winters laughed, “As long as no one bugs Doc for medication because your dick is falling off, enjoy the pay raise gents. You all earned it.” She smirked and then continued.

“Okay, twelve hours ago, we intercepted communication traffic in regards to the NR-73 that the separatists confiscated. It wasn’t destroyed when 5 gave his life to save the Senator as we hoped. In fact, they moved it out of the building moments before our arrival. Check your data pads as I sent you all the intel I was given.”

The Greywolves started going through the information.

“6, you are our lead Demolitions guy now. Which, you already knew. But you are the head motherfucker in charge for explosives and demolition. You will all treat him as such.”

“We have the location of where this fucking thing is, and we’re gonna destroy it. Simple as that. It’s gonna be hot, it’s crawling with separatists and sympathizers to their cause. Everyone is a threat. You are all weapons free as soon as we are boots on ground. Check your data pads for all the information needed for the operation. Does anyone have any questions?”

2, one of the Heavy Weapons guys stood up. “Major, when are we wheels up?”

“24 hours from now. So get your affairs in order, check your equipment, load outs, whatever you need to take care of before we are gone. Any other questions?”

“Let’s go blow shit up!” 6 raised his right fist in the air and the other Greywolves cheered along with him.

Major Winters smiled, “I’ll see you all on the flight line in 24 hours, keep your data pads and watches on you in case mission time changes. Dismissed!”

The Greywolves got up and started heading out.

Major Winters grabbed her bionic thigh.

Staff Sergeant Allyn stood next to her.

“You should go see Medical. Maybe they need to re look at that.” Allyn suggested.

“Perhaps. Maybe you can see your girlfriend, Doctor Lacon.” She punched his arm.

“Fuck you, she’s not my girlfriend.” He chuckled. “I’ll go with you I suppose.”

“I don’t know, I have to admit, her tits are pretty big.” Allyn said as they both left the briefing room.

“You like her, why don’t you take her on a coffee date before you leave?” Winters nagged.

“And then something happens to me? No thanks…”

Winters sighed, “Let’s go see Medical anyway. I need to make sure I won’t have a problem when I am on the operation.”
