The active camouflaged plane hovered over the target area as Raven teams 1 and 2 converged onto 3’s position, placing their scout snipers in various locations to watch all four sides of this three story building. Surrounded by a broken down brick wall, graffiti of various separatists markings were placed in random areas. Over the wide openings in the walls, razor wire with metal poles keeping the wire intact to keep out the locals and enemy militia from entering the exposed wall.

The communications officer onboard the plane pulls up all the views on his screens, and speaks into the microphone.

“Eagle Watch this is Raven’s Nest, Raven is in position and has clear view of all four sides of target of interest.”

“Raven this is Eagle Watch, good copy. Team is in route, southeast of building by motor transport.” Captain Winters said as she was inside the armored personnel carrier in the back with the armed Greywolves, as they drove through the streets. All of the Greywolves wore dark flat grey uniforms, wearing ceramic black colored plates over their chest, back, deltoids, shins and thighs. Their helmet visors were blacked out as the helmet covered their entire head from front to back.

The communications officer moves the cameras around and detects the ground transport they are using and watches them carefully as they gain closer to the target of interest.

“Sir, the radar is picking up something but I don’t see a goddamn thing.” One of the separatists said to another.

“The hell do you mean? There’s nothing out there.” He replied.

“Switch to manual override, and scan.” One other replied.

The soldier did, as he flipped a few switches and clicked on the joystick control to move the cameras around.

“My crosshairs are active on a location. High up. Unable to detect distance.” His response was quick.

One of the soldiers looked at the cameras.

“Fuck. They have something in the sky. Zoom the fuck in, man.”

The soldier zoomed in close and tried to outline what they saw.

“Those fucks have a camouflaged bird up there! Keep it on manual override, and fire up the cannon!”

***

“Raven’s Nest, this is Raven 2.” The scout sniper was looking down the scope watching the building.

“Go ahead 2.”

“The top of the building is moving.”

“Say again, 2.”

“I say again, the top of the fucking building is moving!”

***

“Keep your crosshairs on that plane, and open up with both barrels!”

The top of the building in the center opened up to a circle, and revealed an anti-air pulse laser weapon system. The entire weapon was raising rapidly as it was fully exposed, as both long barrels with a large bore size came to life as it aimed almost straight upwards at the camouflaged plane.

“Fire when ready.”

***

“RAVEN’S NEST THIS IS 2! BANK RIGHT BANK RIGHT BANK RIGHT!”

***

The anti-air pulse laser cannon opened fire, sending purple colored beams towards the camouflaged airplane in rapid succession.

***

“2 is saying bank right Sir!” The communications officer yelled to the pilot and co-pilot.

“What for? I don’t see any….” The pilot said as he looked over his left side through the window.

“SHIT! THEY ARE SHOOTING AT US!” The co-pilot yelled.

“Hold the fuck on!” The pilot yelled louder as the entire airplane banked hard right to avoid taking the full blast of the fast moving projectiles.

“Eagle Watch this is Raven Watch! ANTI AIR! ANTI AIR!” the communications officer screamed into the microphone.

The pilot got onto the intercom to the RADT Captain through his headset.

“GREEN LIGHT! We’re under attack by Anti-Air. Drop!”

The RADT Captain smiled as they all were sitting in their Drop Pods as the plane was still shifting hard right. He activated the switch through his console and 24 drop pods exploded out of the fuselage as the pods descended down rapidly.

One by one, the Drop Pods carrying the Drop Troopers were being picked off by the Anti-Air weapon. The Captain’s HUD was turning red more than green as more of them were being blasted out of the sky.

“Don’t let me fucking die here… don’t let them die… Don’t let them die…” The Captain kept muttering as he held on for dear life on the handles of his pod.

There were four remaining green squares on his HUD by the time they touched ground.

***

“They just wasted the fucking RADT’s.” Captain Winters said to Sergeant Allyn.

“Fuck.” was all he could reply with, as he shook his head.

“Raven’s Nest, get out of the airspace immediately. All Raven Elements – Weapons Free! Start wasting whoever is outside!”

All three Raven Team’s acknowledged the order over the microphone as they started their target acquisition.
